2025–26
  • NEW ADMISSIONS: twins Mizan and Miran Zubin Engineer — Std. I, from Pune.
  • SSC 2026: 1 student — Er. Zhian M. Turel scored 84.00%. He completed Std. X and continued at the Institute as a college student.
  • Navar: Maidhyarem K. Chinoy at Rustomframna Agyari, Dadar (12 May).
  • Maratab: Berjis K. Bharda at Udwada (7 May).
  • 2 students left: Er. Sarosh Khushru Bharucha finished SSC; Rushad B. Katpitia stayed for a year and left for medical reasons after Std. V without Navar-Maratab.

  • Er. Zhian M. Turel (Std. X) selected Head Boy of the school (Jul) and Mr. DPYA.
  • Er. Shahan Bhesadia (Std. IX) certified with Learning Disability in March. Maidyarem Chinoy (Std. IX) and Ziyan Nalladaru (Std. VIII) applied for certification in November.

  • Visitors: Dastur Mehraban Poladi from Yazd and Prof. Dr. Salomi from Cambridge University visited the Institute and addressed the students; Dasturji Khurshedji Dastoor was also present (18 Dec 2024).
  • Visitors: about 30 youths from all over the world, participating in the “Return to Roots” programme, came to see the Institute and interact with the Principal and students (20 Mar).
  • Visitors: a group of about 30 people under Prof. Shernaz Nalwala, from The Asiatic Society's Mumbai Research Centre, came to the Institute for a field trip, “The Geography of Belief”, to understand the Zoroastrian religion and its sacred spaces (24 Aug).
  • Public launch of the film “Mobeds” at the MGMA, featuring the Institute. The film was made by Anna and Remi Sowa for SOAS.
  • In April and May the entire Institute was painted from inside, courtesy a donor. From November onwards another donor sponsored the complete roof work of the Institute.
  • Iran League Annual Prize Distribution programme and dinner (12 Apr).
  • Zoroastrian Saga Programme — Hum bandagi monajat and dinner (11 and 13 Apr).

  • 4 June 2022: the Institute re-opened for all students after a long period of closure on account of Covid.
  • September 2022 — gifts from donors: an Epson printer, 4 additional CCTV cameras, a 20-litre microwave oven and blankets.
  • Fun outings: students went for the Ekadashi Fair (Jul 2022) and 3 nature walks (Jul 2022).
  • Gujarati play on Khordad Sal, courtesy Er. Cyrus Dastur of Universal Theatres (Aug 2022), and the movie “Brahmastra 3D” at PVR Sion (Sep 2022).
  • On 25 September the Dadar Athornan Institute was featured in Mazda Multimedia's bi-monthly YouTube programme “Our Very Own”.
  • 17 December: Annual Day of the Institute. About 170 guests gathered at the Mancherji Joshi Hall in the Institute's Annexe Building. Dasturji Khurshed K. Dastur presided over the function and Dr. Beheram J. Bunshah was the Chief Guest, accompanied by his wife Dinmeher, who distributed the prizes. The students' programme included a talk on Maratab and a short skit, “Let us Understand Chhaiye Ame Zarthoshti”, after which snacks were served.
  • 21 January: educational field trip to Doongerwadi, organised with Empowering Mobeds. Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia gave a talk on Dokhmenashini and held an interactive session; the students then visited the Vatcha Gandhi Agyari and had lunch.
  • 29 January: meeting with Mr. Neville Sadri and Mr. Tamboly, with the parents and students of the Institute, about the WZO Trust scheme under which Rs. 5,000 per month is set aside against each student's name and compounded until he completes his Navar, Maratab and SSC, the cumulative amount to be handed over as a fixed deposit after SSC.
  • 21 February: staff and students went for a one-day games outing and picnic to Della Adventures, Khandala, courtesy Mr. Jimmy R. Mistry.
  • 21 April: Dasturji Dr. Jamasp Jamasp Asa visited the Institute and interacted with the students.
  • 29 January — Cub Scouts Sports Competition: Pashang D. Karanjia — 50 m III, throwing cricket ball II, backward run III, 100 m II; Delyaz M. Panthaki — backward run I, backward run II, throwing cricket ball II.
  • 19 February — All Parsi Sports: Maidyarem Chinoy won the under-12 Boys Championship trophy with 3 gold medals (100 m run, 300 m run and long jump) and 1 silver medal (relay); Zhian M. Turel won a gold medal in relay and a bronze in shot put; Berjis Bharda and Shahan Bhesadia each won a silver medal in relay.
  • 26 February — Creative Child Genius Competition at J.B. Vatcha High School: Delyaz M. Panthaki 1st consolation, Maidhyarem K. Chinoy 2nd consolation, Farman S. Dastur 1st consolation. Zhian Turel won the 1st prize for General Knowledge and the 2nd prize for Space Quiz.
  • Students participated in Iran League competitions such as Shahnameh, Drawing, Parsi Song and Western Vocal from July to December 2022.

2021–22
  • 2 new admissions in June 2021: Mstr. Arish Kaizad Karkaria and Mstr. Kaiwan Kurush Sidhwa.
  • Total Strength 2021-22: 23 students — 20 school + 3 college (Persheus Yezdi Turel, Std. XI; Shyamak Roomi Sanjana, Std. XII; Farzan Kurush Dastur, TYBCom).
  • Navar: Yazad J. Broacha, Hormazd K. Fatakia and Sharukh K. Karkaria, all in Mumbai (May).
  • Maratab: Karl Z. Sidhwa in Mumbai (April).
  • SSC 2022: Karl Z. Sidhwa (82.60%), Yazad J. Broacha (80.40%), Fravash M. Gulestan (77.40%). Er. Karl Sidhwa stood second in SSC among all Parsi students of the DPYA High School.
  • Annual exams were taken in an online mode.
  • On 13 June an online farewell party was organised for the outgoing SSC students, along with Empowering Mobeds. Dasturji Khurshed, Mr. Dinshaw Tamboly and the Principal addressed the students, and the 5 outgoing students gave brief farewell speeches. Games were organised by Mr. Arish S. Daruwalla, with prizes and gift vouchers given by Empowering Mobeds.
  • The Institute functioned in an online mode in the first term — tuitions, prayer classes and parent-teacher meetings were all held online.
  • An online creative workshop held by a reputed children's author was attended by most students.
  • In the second term the school and Institute worked partially with 9 senior students from Std. VIII to XI from November; it closed again for one month in January 2022 and resumed in physical mode for Std. V-X from February.
  • On 22 August two students, Er. Farmaan Sarosh Dastur and Er. Zahan Meherzad Turel, were scheduled speakers for the Ba-Humata Khordad Sal online programme.
  • On 6 September a “Nutri-Bag” of nutritious pulses and eatables was given to each student at a Central Government and Parzor programme in the Institute Hall, presided over by Mrs. Smriti Irani and Mr. Mukhtar Naqvi.
  • On 25 September the Dadar Athornan Institute was featured in Mazda Multimedia's bi-monthly YouTube programme “Our Very Own”.
  • On 3 October students attended a Zoom webinar on “Study Skills” conducted by Mrs. Kashmira Kakalia and facilitated by Empowering Mobeds.
